MSUM Percussion Ensemble to perform Steve Reich masterwork

As a part of the MSUM Freshman/Transfer Scholarship Audition Day this Friday, the MSUM Percussion Ensemble will present an open rehearsal/performance of Steve Reich’s epic masterwork “Music for Mallet Instruments, Voices, and Organ” in the Center for the Arts Art Gallery from 1:30-2:20 p.m. Come listen to this gentle, flowing work which begs the listener to practice “deep listening” to a variety of slowly shifting musical tambres. Admission is free.
