Open Enrollment Extended for Limited Time

Great news! SEGIP is extending Open Enrollment for 2017 insurance benefits for a limited time.

The new limited enrollment will be from now, through 11:59 p.m. on Friday, November 18. If you missed open enrollment, this is your final chance to:

  • Check the cost level of your primary care clinic (cost levels change every year)
  • Elect your pre-tax benefits (they do not automatically renew)
  • Enroll or make changes to benefits

Attached is the 2017 Open Enrollment Form, containing:

  • An election form for medical insurance; long-term disability insurance; pre-tax accounts; child life insurance; and the managers income protection plan
  • A Waiver of Coverage form for state employees whose spouse or parent is also covered by SEGIP and enrolls them as a dependent
  • Notice of Collection of Private Data

How do I submit changes to my open enrollment?

Complete the attached 2017 Open Enrollment Form and submit to SEGIP by email, FAX, or in person by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, November 18.

  • Email to: segip.mmb@state.mn.us (to protect the privacy of your personal data, only send from another @state.mn.us email account)
  • FAX to: 651-296-5445
  • Drop off at SEGIP offices (Minnesota Management and Budget-SEGIP, 658 Cedar Street, 4th floor, St. Paul)

Note: office closes at 4:00 p.m.

Do not mail any of these forms – they will not arrive in time.

I enrolled already, do I need to do anything?

No. This limited extension is to ensure that everyone who didn’t get a chance to make the appropriate elections during open enrollment is able to do so. If you made your elections, they will still be effective and you don’t have to do anything.

Why is open enrollment extended?

We are committed to ensuring state employees and their families have the coverage they need and that they receive excellent customer service. This year, our enrollment period ended on Election Day and occurred during a short work week. Recognizing the challenges this may have posed for employees, we want to ensure anyone who intended to sign up or make changes to their plans, have the opportunity to do so.
