Planetarium Event: The Warped Universe

Friday, Oct. 28 | 7:30 p.m. | Planetarium (Bridges Hall 167)

Some of the most violent events in the universe spectacularly warp space-time, emitting gravitational waves. MIT professor Dr. Nergis Mavalvala will describe the 100 year search for these tiny ripples in space-time and what they can tell us about cosmic events that may be shrouded in darkness and date as far back in time as the earliest moments after the Big Bang.
