Kittens Recovering After Photographer Rescued Them From Brush Fire, The Huffington Post: “Talk about being saved by a whisker. A pair of kittens is on the mend after they became trapped inside a pile of burning brush in North Dakota, only to be saved by a passing photographer who heard them crying.”
Photographer rescues two kittens from controlled burn, Valley News Live: “Pyro and Manni are the names of two kittens being called little fire fighters. The two barely survived after being trapped by a controlled burn in rural North Dakota. … Thankfully, a photographer [Carlos Pacheco] stopped to capture the controlled burn, and rescued them.”

Century-Link held a contest back in September calling for technology inspired art. … Seven winners were chosen, three of which are Minnesota State University Moorhead students, the other four are local artists.”
Gibson sets school receiving record, Dragons cruise to victory, InForum: “Junior quarterback Demetrius Carr threw for 277 yards and five touchdowns to lift Minnesota State Moorhead to a 42-24 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference football win against Minto State on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Scheels Field at Alex Nemzek Stadium. Hunter Braaten caught four passes from Carr for 114 yards and two touchdowns, while Damon Gibson caught seven passes for 129 yards and one touchdown. Gibson, a junior from Beardsley, Minn., set a new single-season school record for receiving yards. He now has 1,184 yards this season.”
MSUM women’s basketball team picked to finish fifth in NSIC, InForum: “The Minnesota State Moorhead women’s basketball team has been picked to finish fifth overall and second in the North Division of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.”
Dragon men’s basketball team picked to finish third in NSIC, InForum: “The Minnesota State Moorhead men’s basketball team has been picked to finish in a tie for third place overall while picked to finish first in the North Division of the Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.”
Diversity dilemma: 1 in 4 students in F-M aren’t white, but 98 percent of teachers are, InForum: “A strong jobs climate in Fargo-Moorhead has for years attracted people of all backgrounds from across the United States to chase the American dream. Many immigrants and refugees from Asia, Africa and the Middle East have also settled here and found safety, new jobs, and new, productive lives. The children in our schools reflect this diversity. About a quarter of students in Fargo, Moorhead or West Fargo schools identify themselves as ethnically Asian, African American, Hispanic, Native American or Pacific Islander, according to 2015-16 school year data requested by The Forum.”
