First BReWS Meeting Tonight

Wednesday, Sept. 14 | 6 p.m. | Library porch

The first Biological Research Wednesday Social (BReWS) will be this Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. in the Livingston Lord Library front porch. There will be free food and all are welcome to attend.

The topic of this session of BReWS will be details and information about a competition we are starting this year that will allow students to devise their own novel hypothesis and experimental approach to empirically test that hypothesis.

The competition is called SPARQ and there are three very different scientific questions students can choose to address. All of these questions are under active investigation by scientists all over the world, but there are no definitive answers to any of them (yet). All of the work that will be done in SPARQ is theoretical and will not require any bench work, special expertise, or prior knowledge.

If you’re intrigued (and/or a little confused), then please come to BReWS this Wednesday to eat free food and learn much more about SPARQ.
