St. Cloud State University President Killed in Car Crash Monday
St. Cloud State University President Earl H. Potter III was killed in a car crash Monday while en route to the Twin Cities for a meeting with the foundation board chair, the school announced.
“His leadership, on so many fronts, will be missed. Earl was a colleague and a friend — a thoughtful, insightful leader — who cared deeply about the university, its students, and the St. Cloud Community,” Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Chancellor Steven Rosenstone said in a statement posted on the school’s website.”I know he was deeply respected on your campus, as well, and my condolences go out to you all.”
Chancellor Rosenstone has asked Provost Ashish Vaidya to serve as acting president.
Please keep President Potter’s family and friends in your thoughts, as well as all those at St. Cloud State University.
