The College of Education and Human Rights Global Human Rights Summit

On April 8, 2016 students from the College of Education and Human Services participated in a global human rights day trip to Winnipeg, Canada. The centerpiece of the tour was a visit to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, a world-class structure dedicated to the understanding of human rights and the promotion of respect for others.

Participants also learned about Canadian human rights issues affecting teachers and human service professionals from Tom Paci, Department Head for Teacher Welfare of the Manitoba Teachers’ Society. Sheila Marquardt – STL, David Tack – STL, Elaine Pyle – SLHS, Jeremy Carney – SW, and Denise Gorsline – Interim Dean of the College of Arts, Media, and Communication accompanied over 25 student participants representing all of the undergraduate programs in the College of Education and Human Services.
