Two MSUM Professors involved in new book devoted to the field of Visual Studies
Penn State University Press has just published “Farewell to Visual Studies” based on the debates from a 2011 seminar held at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (Stone Art Theory Institutes). The seminar was a critical assessment of the field of visual studies and examined its origins as well as its current scholarship. Anna S. Arnar, School of Visual Arts, was one of the fellows who participated in the seminar and Ted Gracyk, Department of Philosophy, was one of the international scholars asked to respond to the debates presented in the seminar devoted to the discipline of Visual Studies.
