SLHS students and faculty involved in American Sign Language Santa service work
MSUM student organization National Student Speech Language Hearing Association/Collegiate Sertoma and MSUM faculty member Bruce Hanson assisted at the Fargo Moorhead Sertoma and the Fargo Quota Club ‘Signing Santa’ event on Sat. Dec. 12 at Blue Stem event center.
The event served over 150 children and their families across the region from the Deaf community. Santa communicated with the children through American Sign Language and handed out gift bags prepared by the MSUM student club. The event also featured sleigh rides, games, and a meal for families. This annual event is looked forward to with excitement by children from the Deaf community in the area.
