SLHS Student Group and Faculty Links to Holiday Lights

If you drive through Holiday Lights at Lindenwood Park this week, the MSUM student group National Student Speech Language Hearing Association/Collegiate Sertoma will greet you at the ticket booth.

The Fargo Moorhead SERTOMA (SERrvice TO MAankind) service group which carries out Holiday Lights is part of International SERTOMA which has a main mission “to improve the quality of life for those at risk or impacted by hearing loss through education and support.” SERTOMA has provided many contributions to MSUM’s SLHS department over the years including purchasing audiometers to screen or test hearing, telepractice equipment for the on campus clinic, and annual student scholarships.

This year, as a new collaboration, information on MSUM’s planetarium program Seasons of Light are being distributed to those who drive through Holiday Lights. MSUM faculty Bruce Hanson and Nancy Paul are active members of the FM chapter of the club. Holiday Lights runs through New Year’s Eve.
