Writing Workshop Opportunity for Faculty: “Effectively Communicating Writing Expectations to Our Students”

Please join Dr. Tim Decker, University Writing Director, and other interested faculty for a discussion of how to clarify our writing assignments and discussions about writing in the classroom. Although we may discuss a wide range of topics during the workshop, we will focus on the following:

–Understanding what students need to know about a writing assignment

–Appreciating how students may interpret academic vocabulary differently than we do

–Crafting effective assignments

The workshop will be held Monday, November 16, from 3:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. in Library 124, which is part of the Faculty Development Center.
