Roland to Continue as Director of First Year Programs
After a national search Julia Roland has accepted the position of Director of First Year Programs. Previously, Roland has served both as the Assistant Director for First Year Programs and the interim Director of First Year Programs at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
“I’m excited to serve as a resource people can look to as we strive to offer complete social and academic integration into MSUM for all of our new students,” said Roland.
Throughout the process Roland’s passion for MSUM and demonstration of her willingness to go the extra mile for students was evident. The growth and development of the parent advisory council, Dragon Welcome Week, and new student orientation coupled with her involvement in the implementation of the FYE program provided a glimpse of the vision Roland has for first year programming.
“Her enthusiasm, vision and experience with first year programming made Ms. Roland the best choice for MSUM,” stated Doug Peters, Interim Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. “She exemplifies our core values of grit, humility and heart.”
