Five hundred people attended Sunday’s Lunar Eclipse event
Approximately 500 people turned out for Sunday’s Lunar Eclipse event hosted by MSUM Planetarium, Department of Physics & Astronomy, Society of Physics Students and FM Astronomy Club.
The Planetarium offered free viewings of Back to the Moon for Good, a full dome movie featuring the current space race to go back to the moon.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy in partnership with FM Astronomy Club had telescopes set up in a campus parking lot to offer exclusive views of the eclipsing “Super Blood Moon”.
The Society of Physics Students offered hands-on activities for modeling the sun, moon, earth system and creating your own eclipses.
Thank you to all who volunteered to make this an amazing event for both the campus and local communities!
