Learn more about Child Development Labs
Calling all parents!
Do you ever wonder how children learn their first language?
Or how they use different kinds of visual information to recognize faces? Or when they first start to see in three-dimensions?
The Child Development Labs in the Departments of Psychology at MSUM and NDSU would like to invite your children to participate in research designed to address these questions. We are looking for children from infants to 10 years of age to complete fun studies at the Child Development lab at MSUM, the Language Lab or the High Level Vision Lab at North Dakota State University. These studies can involve viewing pictures on a computer screen, using a non-invasive electrode net to record brain activity, or carrying out instructions with stuffed animals and other toys. Generally, the studies can take from 10 minutes to an hour depending on what study your child is eligible for. The studies are run in a fun and safe environment, and we are always happy to explain our research and our findings to interested parents and children after the study ends.
We provide parking and monetary compensation to help defray any travel expenses. Your child will also be able to choose a book to thank them for their participation.
If you are interested in participating or if you have any questions, please contact us at the e-mail address or phone numbers listed below. For more information about our lab, please check out our websites listed below. Should you decide to participate, we will ask you for some basic information and be in touch about scheduling a mutually acceptable time.
