Interview schedule for Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs
Two finalists for the position of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs are scheduled to hold open forums for the MSUM community. The forums are scheduled as follows and all members of the MSUM community are invited to attend.

These forums are an opportunity to learn more about the finalists and to submit comments on their qualifications to the Search Committee. The Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs; works collaboratively with the Provost and Deans to ensure alignment of quality academic programming, curricular planning and student learning assessment with the University’s strategic plan; provides leadership and supervision for library faculty and staff, Records Office, Study Abroad Office, University Studies Department, and Learning Communities; supervises in collaboration with faculty directors, Honors Program, Faculty Development, Student Academic Conference and Service Learning; and collaborates with the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs on initiatives related to student retention and success.
Candidate Biographies:
Dr. Lane Azure was the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Cankdeska Cikana Community College from 2013-2015. Dr. Azure served as the Director of Institutional Assessment and was Program Director/Instructor from 2008-2011 at the same institution. He was a high school mathematics teacher from 2007-2008. From 1999-2009, Dr. Azure owned his own business, Dakota Mud Jack. He also served as the Student Support Services (TRIO) Transfer Coordinator at Lake Region State College from 2001-2006. His undergraduate degree is in Mathematics and Education from Minot State University, his master’s is in Management from Minot State University, and he earned a Ph.D. in Education: Institutional Analysis from North Dakota State University.
Dr. John Healy is currently the Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, TX. He served as the Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Central Methodist University, Fayette, MO from 2009-2012. Dr. Healy was on the English faculty at Central Methodist University from 2000-2009. Prior to 2000, he was a lecturer at University of Kansas for four years. Dr. Healy’s undergraduate degree is in English from Creighton University and both his master’s degree and Ph.D. are in English from University of Kansas.
