Sherry Lee Short, School of Visual Arts, received artist residency for summer 2015
Sherry Lee Short, Professor of Art in the School of Visual Arts, has received a 2015 summer artist residency in the Porcupine Wilderness in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. During the residency, she will spend two weeks working out of a primitive cabin as well as exploring this unique, old growth wilderness area by backpacking. As part of the residency, she will also give a pubic program titled Woman Walking Solo: Art of the Wilderness, which will explore how solo backpacking and creating artworks based on natural areas has transformed her relationship to the land and her art.
