Affinity Plus is once again offering an Estate Planning Seminar on April 7th, 2015 from 6:00pm – 7:30 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott in Moorhead MN. Past Seminars were well attended, so please register soon. You do not need to be a member of Affinity Plus to attend. This is open to all MSUM Faculty, Staff and employees. The Seminar is free and offered for educational purposes. Not a sales pitch.

Estate Planning Seminar:

This is an introductory estate planning seminar for those who want an overview of the process. It will answer basic questions regarding the definition of a health care directive or living will and offer suggestions for preparing a comprehensive health care directive. Likewise, the seminar will cover the pros and cons of preparing different types of power of attorney forms. It will answer questions such as “What is a durable power of attorney?” More importantly, the seminar ties all of the types of documents together and explains the relationship between them. What is the difference between a will and a trust and how do I decide whether I need one or both? How do I select an agent to carry out duties on my behalf? In short, for people looking for an overview of the estate planning process, an understanding of the various tools involved in the estate planning process and a basic understanding of probate: what it is and how it impacts decisions such as using a will or trust are covered in the seminar.
