Film Studies student Jessica Hegland won a Special Jury Award at the 2015 Headwaters Film Festival. The award was in the category of “Authentic Voice,” and was bestowed on Hegland for her direction of the film Manxiety. Headwaters is a student-run film festival at Bemidji State University.
Professor Claudia Murphy, departments of Philosophy and Women’s and Gender Studies presented a paper “The Collaborative Interdisciplinary Development of a Case Study on Hydraulic Fracturing on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota,” at an annual meeting of SRPoiSE in Detroit MI, March 26-29.
