FM Opera Young Artist Program brings four vocalists to MSUM stage

Four singers embarking on vocal performance careers perform on the Gaede Stage in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts on the Minnesota State University Moorhead campus Tuesday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m. The one-hour performance is free and open to the public, but does require a ticket.

The artists are soprano Holly Flack, Chicago Ill.; tenor Stephen Steffens, Manhattan, N.Y.; mezzo-soprano Julia Snowden and baritone Colin Levin, both New York City. They are accompanied by Eric McEnany, Minneapolis. McEnany is the associate director and principal coach of the Fargo-Moorhead Opera’s Gate City Bank Young Artist Program, now in its second year.

The FMO chose the singers at national auditions that took place in New York. The program provides additional training and performance experience to young artists, guided by FMO’s guest artists, stage directors and the FM Opera General Director, David Hamilton. The singers are in Fargo from February through April, and perform at schools, community events and participate in various FM Opera productions, including this spring’s production of The Daughter of the Regiment.

For more information about the Young Artist Program, contact David Hamilton at director@fmopera.org. Free tickets to the concert are available at www.mnstate.edu/tickets, or by calling the MSUM Box Office Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at (218) 477-2271.
