Faculty Workshop on Graphic Organizers today
Familiar Unfamiliar: Using Familiar Organizers to Navigate Unfamiliar Information, happens today (Thurs, Feb 26) from 1:00 – 2:00 pm in the Faculty Development Center. Claudia Gates, School of Teaching an Learning, will identify the definition of expository text and why it is important to understand its structure. She will describe how the use of graphic organizers can assist collegiate readers in recording key ideas during the reading and writing process. Handouts, activities, and simulations will be provided to promote the integration of graphic organizers into daily instruction. Come early (12:30) for a free lunch!
