Writing support provided in the Academic Support Center this semester
For the Spring 2015 semester, writing support will be provided in the Academic Support Center (Floral Frick 154) rather than at the Write Site. Write Site-trained tutors will be available to help students develop strategies to improve their writing. Walk-ins are welcome; however, hours are limited, so students are strongly encouraged to call the ASC (477-4318) to make an appointment. This is a temporary arrangement while the university develops a plan to deliver the best possible writing support system.
Throughout the semester, ASC will support the established mission of the Write Site:
• To assist students in improving their writing proficiency and independence during the various stages of their writing assignments
• To provide a supportive environment where writers and readers work efficiently one-to-one
• To train writing tutors to become effective readers of and responders to texts from various disciplines
