SoMAD Sponsors Twin Cities Film Fest

In an effort to raise its profile in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market, the School of Media Arts & Design recently sponsored the 2014 Twin Cities Film Festival. As part of the marketing package, SoMAD had the privilege of officially sponsoring and introducing the screening of the Minnesota made feature film Kumiko: The Treasure Hunter. Film Studies alumnus Melissa Kraemer ’09 served as SoMAD’s representative and introduced the film to a packed audience. Other Film alumni who attended the screening as guests of the department were Andrew Neill ’10, Eric Carlson ’10, Chelsey Green ’11, Dustin Solmonson ’08 and Conor Holt ’13.

Another part of the sponsorship package involved the design of a promotional print ad which was included in the festival program, handed out at festival screenings and mailed to over 50,000 households in the Twin Cities area. The ad, which features Film Studies alumnus Amber Johnson ’09, who works in the Minneapolis film production community, was designed by SoMAD professors Alex Fogarty and Allen Sheets.
