“Red, White, [Black & Blue] Uncharged at Guantánamo” one-man political theatre show Nov. 6
The Interdisciplinary Center for Diversity and Social Justice and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program are pleased to host, “Red, White, [Black & Blue] Uncharged at Guantánamo” a one-man political theatre show with a talk back with Nathan Tylutki Thursday November 6th from 12:00-1:15pm on the Gaede Stage.
Show description:
Twelve years ago the Bush administration reopened the facility at Guantánamo to combat the “War on Terror.” Guantánamo remains open under the Obama administration and exists outside of the confines of the law. Uncharged detainees have been held for over 12 years now– with no rationale behind their detention. Of the 149 detainees currently housed at Guantánamo, half are cleared for release, and have been for years, yet they remain imprisoned.
Tylutki co-wrote the show, funded it by community support, and performs the show to bring awareness to the human rights violations taking place under the purview of U.S. foreign policy.
Performance is free to MSUM community.
[Additional public community performance on Saturday Nov. 8th 7:30pm at Theatre B. Tickets are $10/adults, $5/students]
