Help promote nonpartisan voter registration and turn-out for General Election

The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State requests your support this October to promote nonpartisan voter registration and turn-out to your school’s students, faculty and staff during this important election year.

We hope you will use the following links and promotional materials to remind your community to register and vote on November 4. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Promoting Nonpartisan Voter Registration:
The following resources may be viewed and ordered at Promote the Vote webpage:

·         Link, share and promote mnvotes.org — the one-stop shop to register to vote, request an absentee ballot, find a polling place, view a sample ballot, and more. Place a web ad on your website to promote online voter registration through October 14 (pre-registration deadline); link the ad to mnvotes.org.

·         Issue communication to students, faculty and staff (see sample to customize) prior to the October 14 voter pre-registration deadline promoting mnvotes.org, and just prior to Election Day reminding them to vote and that they may register at their polling place.

·         Share animated, fast-paced videos providing an overview of the voting process. Use on websites, social media platforms, emails and at events:
o    “It’s Election Year, Minnesota!”(two minutes)
o    “Vote Early — Vote Absentee!” (one-and-a-half minutes)
o    “Get Ready to Vote” (30 seconds)

·         Link, share and promote one-page voter guides:
o   Guide to Voting
o   Guide to Voting Absentee
o   Election Day Registration.

·         Customize sample social media posts to encourage voter registration and participation.

·         “Vote” window clings (7”x7”) — order at no charge and post on entrances/high traffic areas.

·         “Vote 2014” voter information cards (8.5”x5.5”) — order at no charge and display/distribute to customers. Or, use a PDF version as an email attachment.

·         Provide sample public address announcements (below) for use at fall sporting events (football games, etc.).

PA Scripts for prior to October 14 (pre-registration deadline):
·         Hey, fans — are you ready to vote? Election Day is November 4!
·         You can register to vote online at mnvotes.org — it’s fast and easy!
·         Get registered, go vote — and go [TEAM NICKNAME]!

PA Scripts for after October 14 through Election Day November 4:
