Library welcomes Candace Fleming
To celebrate the MSUM Livingston Lord Library’s grand reopening and the 10th anniversary of the Read Aloud Book Awards, the MSUM Library welcomes Candace Fleming, well-known children’s author.
Fleming will be presenting a public lecture on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 4:30 p.m. in Library 103. The presentation, titled, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Bookshelf,” is open to the public. This fun-filled and informational session traces Fleming’s journey, chronicling both the pitfalls and the joys of writing for children. A book signing is to follow the public lecture.
In 2014, Fleming won the Comstock Read Aloud Book Award for her book, “Papa’s Mechanical Fish.” Her book, “Oh No!” was a Wanda Gág Honor Book in 2013.
Fleming has published over 30 books for children, including the Boston Globe/Horn Book award-winning biography, “The Lincolns,” and the bestselling picture book, “Muncha! Muncha! Muncha!” Her repertoire includes picture books, historical fiction, biographies, and novels for children.
