MSUM exchange student named finalist in both TV news and TV sports photography
The Society of Professional Journalists selected Stian Michalsen, a Norwegian exchange student who studied at Minnesota State University Moorhead during the spring semester of 2013, as a national finalist in both television news and television sports photography.
Stian shot his stories for Campus News, a weekly program produced in the School of Communication and Journalism at MSUM and broadcast during spring semesters on Prairie Public Television. Stian was a national finalist in the Television News and Feature Photography category and in the Television Sports Photography category.
Many MSUM students have earned national awards from the Society of Professional Journalists in the past several years. Listed below are those who earned Mark of Excellence National Awards for Television News, Sports & Feature Photography from 2004 to 2013.
