MSUM Green Dragons help with river cleanup

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) – Dragon Red was all about Dragon Green today.

Students with MSUM’s Green Dragon Club got in canoes and cleaned up the riverbanks along the Red.

MSUM has an active “Office of Sustainability Program,” and so Friday, a team of students picked up garbage and loaded canoes with cans, plastic, old appliances, and other trash.

Joe Herbst- MSUM Office Of Sustainability: “It really shocked me; all the plastic, we really don’t think where it ends up and it feels good to clean some of it up.”

The MSUM Green Dragons are also active in recycling and energy conservation on campus.
