Straw Hat Players’ production of “Funny Girl,” June 17-20

Minnesota State University Moorhead’s Straw Hat Players Summer Theatre opens its third show of the summer — “Funny Girl,” a PG-13-rated musical with hits like “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star,” and “People” – on Tuesday, June 17. The show runs four consecutive nights (June 17-20) in Hansen Theatre in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts.
Funny Girl is a semi-biography based on the life of Fanny Brice, from her early days in the Jewish slums of the Lower East Side, to the height of her career with the Ziegfeld Follies. The movie version was a breakout for Barbara Streisand in 1963, who had performed the role on Broadway.
All shows start at 7:30 p.m. A signed performance for the hearing impaired is Wednesdays. Tickets are available online at www.mnstate.edu/strawhat, or by calling the MSUM Box Office Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at (218) 477-2271.
