Dr. Randy Cagle to serve as Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences
Official announcement sent by Dr. Anne Blackhurst:
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Randy Cagle has agreed to serve as Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, effective July 1, 2014.
Dr. Cagle earned his Ph.D. from the University of Memphis. He joined the faculty in the MSUM Philosophy Department in 2003 after teaching for two years at Humboldt State University and one year at Northern Illinois University. He was promoted to professor in 2012 and served as Chair of the Philosophy Department during the 2012-2013 academic year. He is currently interim dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Randy’s passionate commitment to MSUM and his belief in the transformative power of higher education are hallmarks of his leadership. As Dean, he will work with faculty and staff in the college to ensure that students discover their passions and receive an education of lifelong relevance. I am confident the college will thrive under his leadership.
