Awards given at annual Student Organization Award Ceremony
Last night the Student Organization Advisory Committee (SOAC) held their annual Student Organization Award Ceremony. The following awards were given out:
– Rookie of the Year: Ryan Bennek from Students Today, Leaders Forever. Honorable mentions: Jenna Polley, Becca Ryan, Wesley Kramer, and Sydney Klein.
– Student Leader of the Year: Holly Hoeschen, from The Dragon Entertainment Group, and Students Today, Leaders Forever. Honorable mentions: Katherine Beneby, Kevin Struxness, Jeffrey McNertney, and Kyle Heinze.
– Organization Advisor of the Year: Jody Steile, advisor for the American Indian Student Association. Honorable mentions: Kandace Creel Falcon, Becky Boyle Jones, and Erdenbataar Chadraa.
– Organization Officer of the Year: Courtney Newland from the National Residence Hall Honorary. Honorable mentions: Ben Lemay, Mitchell Egge, and Logan Schrader.
– Most Motivational Student of the Year: Katherine Beneby from Dragon Entertainment Group. Honorable mentions: Kevin Struxness.
– Dragon Pride Student of the Year: Kevin Struxness from Student Senate. Honorable mentions: Sara Fritz.
– Outstanding Community Service/Philanthropy Program of the Year: Panahellenic Council’s event “48 Hour Philanthropy.”
– Outstanding Collaborative Program of the Year: Colleges Against Cancer’s event “Relay for Life”
– The Outstanding Educational Program of the Year: “Go Pink” which was put on by homecoming/dragon frost student committee and the wellness educators. Other programs that are honorable mentions for the various categories include Dragon Entertainment Group’s College Cooking Series and NRHH’s Major Mingle.
– The Outstanding New Organization of the Year: Actuarial Science Club.
– Most Involved Organization of the Year: Society of Physics Students.
– Dragon Pride Organization of the Year: Kappa Sigma.
– Dragon Heart of the Year: Kappa Sigma.
– Organization of the Year: Nepali Students Association.
