Psychology students to present research at Stanford

Three Psychology students have had their research abstracts accepted for a conference at Stanford University this spring. Biosciences students’ research accepted for publication

Biosciences majors Emily Mammenga, Carissa Storseth and Noah Berglund have had their research accepted for publication in the international peer-reviewed journal Animal Behaviour. The title of their manuscript is “Odor-tracking by young convict cichlids and a mechanism for alloparental brood amalgamation.” The research was mentored by Brian Wisenden.  

Recent death: Charles Magel

Charles Russell Magel passed away peacefully on March 22, 2014. He was born on June 3, 1920 in Burlington, Iowa. Charley was a pioneer in animal rights, a philosophy professor, serving as philosophy department chair for many years at MSUM, WWII Navy veteran, an avid gardener and a generous philanthropist throughout his life.
