Watch DragonsLIVE Signing Day Special TONIGHT at 6:30pm on WDAY 6.3 or Midco Channel 596

MSUM Dragon Athletics and WDAY are excited to announce a new partnership that will televise two DragonsLIVE coaches shows and the Go Pink With the Dragons basketball games on WDAY 6.3 and Midcontinent Channel 596.

The first of the three shows is the second edition of the DragonsLIVE Signing Day Special featuring head football coach Steve Laqua discussing all the 2014 recruiting class coming to MSUM in the Fall. The show will air on Thursday, February 6 at 6:30 P.M.

The next show will be live coverage of the Go Pink With the Dragons men’s and women’s basketball games on Friday, February 7 starting at 5:45 P.M. This will be the first self-produced live television show Dragon Athletics has ever produced.

“Dragon Athletics has committed to the fight against cancer,” said athletics director Doug Peters. “We hope the live broadcast of our games increases awareness about the ‘Be the Match’ bone marrow registry and encourages our community to consider joining the registry.”

The final installation of the three is DragonsLIVE Basketball Playoff Special where Steve D’Eustachio will break down the NSIC playoff picture for the Dragons and talk with coaches Karla Nelson and Chad Walthall before heading into the last games of the season. The show will air on Wednesday, February 19 at 6:30 P.M.

“We’re ecstatic to get the opportunity to showcase our gameday on a larger scale and with a partner that’s been supporting for a very long time,” said assistant athletics director for marketing and production Jon Wepking. “Our crew works incredibly hard to be able to offer our fans a TV quality broadcast of our events online, but taking it to this level is a challenge we’re proud to take on.”

Dragon Athletics has a full student-staffed production crew which partners with the Mass Communications department to teach live sports production to their students in a real-world and very hands-on atmosphere.

“We believe that being part of Dragon Athletics is a transformative experience and we are excited to share an inside look at our future student-athletes and our in-season sports,” said Peters.
