Welcome New Dragons!

Spring is in the air! Well, sort of. What we should say is, “Spring semester is in the air!” The start of a new semester is an exciting time in the student union because our building is bustling with new students getting registered, getting oriented and becoming part of the Dragon Family! No matter what the weather is like, it’s always a great day to be a Dragon!

This week we’ve had the chance to help welcome our new international students to MSUM. It’s been all kinds of fun learning where each person has come from and why they picked MSUM. They are all excited for what their time in the United States and at Minnesota State University Moorhead holds–there is a consensus, also, that it’s cold here! Since no one really has wanted to go out and play in the snow, we’ve been inviting them to “stay & play” in the CMU! Many of them have enjoyed pool, snooker, ping pong and other games in the ROC this week. After a nice winter break, it’s fun to have so many students back in the student union!

On Friday, January 10, we will get the opportunity to have Dragon Days in the CMU once again. We love Dragon Days–so many excited incoming students who are ready to start their careers at MSUM. First Year Programs hosts Dragon Days and does an excellent job of making sure each person gets individual attention as they register for classes, learn about campus, and become part of the Dragon Family! Kudos to our First Year Program staff who make MSUM a warm, welcoming place. The Dragon Family is growing this spring with new students–we’re glad we can help make them feel at home at MSUM.

The spring semester each year is full of fun, festivities and flies by way too fast! We’re excited to have many events in our building–be sure to check out all the calendar of events happening on campus from sports to theater to Dragons AfterDark: http://www.mnstate.edu/cmu/events-activities/

Good luck to all Dragons in the spring semester!
