Meghan Duda’s work exhibited at Instinct Art Gallery

Please join Meghan Duda, photographer and Assistant Professor in Cinema Arts & Digital Technologies, at Instinct Art Gallery on Nicollet Mall in Downtown Minneapolis for the opening of Still the Sky, an exhibition featuring her work along with artists Jamie Burmeister, Eric Dubnicka, Wendy Fernstrum, Elizabeth Garvey, Ben Moren, David Sebberson, and Lynn Speaker. The reception is Saturday, Jan. 25 from 6-8 p.m., and the show runs through March 15.

Duda has four pieces in the exhibition. Three are photographs captured with her Trailer Obscura, a 5’ x 8’ enclosed trailer converted into a pinhole camera, which she makes exposures with traveling at speeds up to 80 mph. The forth piece consists of 100 folded paper houses resembling suburban neighborhoods.

“This ‘Big Sky/Little Man’ exhibition re-calibrates the natural/human-made lens through which we see the world. Here, sweeping skies above plains of the earth and vast environments are tugged upon by the many, minute people.”
