Interdisciplinary faculty team attend Climate Adaptation Conference
Claudia Murphy, Philosophy and Women’s and Gender Studies; Shawn Garrett,Chemistry; Steve Lindaas, Physics; and Alison Wallace, Biosciences attended “Preparing Minnesota for Climate Change: A Conference on Climate Adaptation” coordinated by the University of Minnesota’s Water Resources Center and hosted by the Science Museum of Minnesota on Nov. 7. This conference was designed for “Local Officials, Planners, Engineers and Natural Resource practitioners to learn about other communities’ early successes in developing adaptation strategies in areas such as transportation infrastructure, natural resources, human health, and agriculture.” The faculty team, all members of the Sustainability Degree Program Working Group, are co-developing a water management case study for use in multiple courses across departments and colleges.
