The Department of Housing and Residential Life is pleased to introduce two new Area Directors to MSUM
Kathleen Coughlin is the Area Director for Nelson and Grantham Halls. She has recently served as an Academic Advisor in the College of Engineering at South Dakota State University. Prior to this position, she was a college counselor and director of a residential program for students in recovery at Northern State University. She was also the coordinator for the student success retention center at NSU. Her residence life experience includes functioning as an Area Coordinator at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. She received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and a master’s of science in Education with an emphasis in Guidance and Counseling from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Patricia Huth is the Area Director for the Snarr complex. She has recently served as a Complex/Hall Director at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. In this role, she supervised graduate and undergraduate students in residence hall capacities, and advised student organizations within the residence life department. Prior to her roles in Student Affairs, she spent time in the insurance industry. She received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Carthage College, where she was an active student leader, and a master of education in Educational Policy & Leadership/College Student Personnel from Marquette University.
