Faculty, students to present at Women’s Studies Conference
The annual Red River Women’s Studies Conference will take place at the University of North Dakota Friday, October 4, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Early bird registration deadline for students ($10) and faculty ($35) is Friday, September 27. Register at the Red River Women’s Studies Conference website. Student travel funds to cover the cost of early bird registration for students are available through the Women’s Center. MSUM faculty presenting at the conference are Women’s and Gender Studies faculty Kandace Creel Falcón and Claudia Murphy; Deb White, Sociology and Criminal Justice; Art & Design faculty Holly R. Silvers and Sherry Lee Short; and Erik Gooding of Anthropology and Earth Sciences.
MSUM students presenting at the conference are Art & Design majors Chantel Fugere, Linnea Fitterer, Shannon Hokstad, Ber Vasquez, and Takara Geck; Women’s and Gender Studies majors Jennifer Knecht and Kate Lucero; Sarah Smith and Jonah Noyes of Anthropology and Earth Sciences; and Tanika Essary, Yalondo Nelson, and Alyssa Sauer, who are students from WS330 Gender, Justice, and the Environment.
