“Heretics,” a full-length play by Richard Zinober, English, was given a developmental workshop by the Horse Trade Theatre Group in New York City this spring. An individual artist grant from the Lake Region Arts Council in Fergus Falls and an MSUM faculty grant helped fund the project. Zinober teaches playwriting and screenwriting at MSUM.
The Minnesota State University Moorhead Alumni Foundation received a $5,000 grant from Xcel Energy. The grant totaling $5,000 will fund student scholarships. Xcel Energy invests in its local communities with grants, charitable contributions and volunteer time. Business administration student, Zaklina Mijucic, who graduated in spring 2012, has been accepted by the University of Manitoba to pursue a Master’s degree in medical rehabilitation (occupational therapy). She was also a recipient of a scholarship, which will cover most of her study expenses.
