Ireland Revisited: MSUM’s 2012 Literature and Writing Study Tour students to give public reading

Twenty student members of MSUM’s 2012 Ireland Literature and Writing Study Tour will present a reading of their creative work inspired by their studies and travels in Ireland, May 17-31, 2012. The event will take place at Nichole’s Fine Pastry, 13 Eighth St. S. in Fargo, on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. “

Ireland Revisited: Scenes Along the Journey,” a photography exhibit, will accompany the readings. Led by MSUM English Professors and MFA faculty members Dr. Alan Davis and Dr. Thom Tammaro, the Ireland Literature and Writing Study Tour group spent two weeks traveling the Emerald Isle, including stays in Dublin, Cork, Tralee, Galway, and Sligo (Yeats Country) and visits to the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands, Carrowkeel megalithic cemetery, and numerous sites in and around Sligo, inspiration to 1923 Nobel Prize-winning poet W.B. Yeats.
