Former MSUM coach Dahnke to be inducted into NSIC Hall

MOORHEAD – Longtime Minnesota State Moorhead cross country coach Fred Dahnke is among eight who will be inducted into the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Hall of Fame on Wednesday in St. Cloud, Minn.

Dahnke, who lives in Barnesville, Minn., ran track at MSUM before graduating in 1971.

He spent nearly 20 years coaching MSUM cross country, serving as either an assistant or head coach from 1976-92. During his tenure, the Dragons won nine straight NSIC championships.

He was inducted into the MSUM Hall of Fame in 1999.
