MOORHEAD – Roland Dille is a walking history book.
The longest-serving Minnesota State University Moorhead president led the campus through tumultuous times of anti-war protests and racial unrest.
Now 87, Dille stays as connected to campus as his health will allow and works on various writing projects, including his memoirs, a history of his hometown of Dassel, Minn., and a mystery novel.
“I say that I have more projects than the New Deal,” Dille said.
On Friday, Dille received the 2011 Clay County Heritage Award for his efforts to preserve local history.
