New website launches Oct. 10

After extensive market research, ongoing consultation with the campus community and significant content development efforts over a two-year timeframe, MSUM will launch Phase I of its new website on Monday, October 10.

Phase I includes the launch of an external website designed for external site visitors, including prospective students, community members, parents, alumni and the general public.  The creation of an external site is an industry standard practice that allows for a more streamlined, user-friendly experience for site visitors.

Faculty and staff will still be able to access the current website simply by clicking on ‘Faculty and Staff’ on the new homepage. However, the URL prefix for the majority of current pages will change from “www” to “web.”  Please be aware of how this change might affect previously printed materials. Faculty and staff will maintain the same editing rights for the current website that have already been assigned to them.

The external website is largely focused on recruitment and academic information, and provides a common framework across all of the academic departments that emphasizes the academic curriculum and the success of MSUM students and graduates.

Phase II

The majority of student affairs and academic support offices will have their pages updated in the second phase of the launch.  If your page isn’t part of the initial redesign, it will be included in Phase II.

Phase II will also include the launch of an internal, password-protected site for current students and faculty and staff.

Ongoing Website Development and Support

The Marketing department will manage the content for the external website as it will primarily serve as a recruitment tool for prospective students.

The website will continue to undergo significant enrichment. Copy, photography and video will continue to be created, modified and added to keep the website fresh, engaging and up-to-date.

Once the external website launches, all questions, changes and requests related to the website should be routed through support@mnstate.edu.

If you have any immediate questions, please email the web team at webteam@mnstate.edu.
