Faculty development events during Fall Breather

October 10 and 11 are a Fall Breather for our students. For faculty, Monday, Oct. 10 is a non-instructional/non-duty day. Tuesday, Oct. 11 is a duty day, and we are planning several Faculty Development events. More details will be provided, but mark your calendar for an 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. session that will focus on the resources available for faculty in working with at-risk students. We will be building on some of your experiences to provide suggestions. We will also identify resources on what you can do to help troubled. We will be discussing mental health resources, residence hall assistance, academic resources, security, and the Care Team process.

At 1 p.m. : and then repeated again at 3 p.m., we will offer advising sessions. These will review the advising handbook, as well as give faculty a chance to ask questions about advising for LASC. These are not the only advising sessions that will be offered this fall, but there are one option. Instructional Technology will also be offering an afternoon workshop on preparing to teach online.

If you have any specific questions about the plans for the day, please contact Denise Gorsline (gorsline@mnstate.edu).
