New political science course added for fall
POL 150 Comparative Political Traditions was approved as a Dragon Core 8 course; however, Dragon Core areas 8, 9, and 10 do not allow for 100-level courses. If a student is enrolled in POL 150 for DRAGON CORE Category 8 credit, it will NOT be satisfying that requirement with this course. If the student is planning on switching over to LASC for general education coursework, this course DOES count for LASC Category 8.
The Political Science Department has added another course for Fall 2011 that will fulfill the Dragon Core Category 8 for students continuing with the Dragon Core program for general education coursework. Margaret Sankey will teach POL 370 Understanding International Security, which will meet MWF from 10:30 to 11:20 a.m. This course DOES count for BOTH DC and LASC in Category 8.
No prerequisites required. Andrew Conteh previously taught this course, but Sankey, who is an expert on international security, will offer her take on the relevant topics.
