Campus News, MSUM’s student-produced television newscast, won a Student Television Award for Excellence in the newscast category over the weekend at the National Academy of Arts and Sciences Upper Midwest Chapter awards gala in Minneapolis. Campus News airs weekly on Prairie Public Television during the spring semester. In addition, three students won individual awards:

  • Kelsey Roseth – News: General Assignment – “Get on the Bus”
  • Lane Zyvoloski – Arts & Entertainment/Cultural Affairs – “Tibetan Monk Sand Mandala”
  • Kim Kressin – Writing – “Kim Kressin Composite”

MSUM picked up more awards than any other school. Eleven colleges and universities from around the region were nominated for awards. This is the first year NATAS has sponsored the Student Television Awards for Excellence. The same organization also sponsors the regional Emmy Awards.
