Chris Franz named MN College Photographer of the Year

Photojournalism student Chris Franz was named College Photographer of the Year during the Minnesota News Photographers Association conference held on the Twin Cities campus of the University of Minnesota on Saturday. This is the second year in a row that Chris has won the prestigious award.

Chris won an award in eight of the nine student categories. He also received an award in the professional category for his coverage of the aftermath of the Wadena tornado last summer.

Chris, a senior in Mass Communications, is a photographer and picture editor for the student newspaper, the Advocate. Last summer he was offered the Fargo Forum’s photo internship and this spring he was invited back to be the photo intern again this summer.
