Anne E. Blackhurst named Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
President Edna Mora Szymanski is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Anne E. Blackhurst as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. Blackhurst brings an excellent complement of experience and skills to Minnesota State University Moorhead. We are most pleased that she has chosen to join our leadership team. She will begin her duties on August 1.
Blackhurst is currently serving as Acting Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at Minnesota State University Mankato. Prior to that, she served as Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, and Professor in the Department of Counseling and Personnel where she served two terms as department chair.
Blackhurst received her Ph.D. in College Student Personnel at Ohio University, her master’s degree in counseling at the College of Idaho, and her bachelor’s degree in economics at Boise State University. Prior to her faculty career, she served as an Assistant Dean of Student Life and Director of Residence Life at Marietta College in Ohio.
