New summer elective: Health Informatics

Health Services Administration is offering a new summer elective, Health Informatics (HSAD 490: 3 cr.). The course  is appropriate for students in Nursing, Community Health, Social Work, Health Services Administration, Business Administration, and Health Ed. It will focus on developing skills to conceptualize and promote best practices and provide quality healthcare by using evidence based medicine. The course will also cover topics such as health data management, electronic medical records, and privacy, confidentiality and security in e-health. This 3-credit course is timely, appropriate for anyone interested in careers in Health Informatics, and will be a great elective for students needing upper division credits.
