Kenyon Williams presents to local music club

Kenyon Williams, Music, presented a lecture for the Fargo-Moorhead Area Music Club January 17. His presentation, entitled “The Man We Love to Hate: John Cage,” discussed the development of the Western percussion ensemble with a particular focus upon the influences of John Cage and the West Coast School of composers from 1938-1945.  The lecture was presented as a form of preparation for the MSUM Percussion Ensemble’s spring concert on Sunday, April 3. This upcoming concert will focus upon the music of John Cage and will be presented with multiple works being performed simultaneously at the Plains Art Gallery ala a Cage “Musicircus.”
