Tracy Gompf publishes article in Paralegal Professionalism Anthology

Tracy Gompf, Assistant Professor, Paralegal, has had an article accepted for publication as a “Major Article” in the peer-reviewed journal, Paralegal Professionalism Anthology, published by Carolina Academic Press as part of The Empowered Paralegal series. The article is titled “Non-lawyer Representation of Clients Before a Tribunal: An Opportunity for an Expanded Paralegal Role.”

The article explores the opportunities available for paralegals to actively participate in the legal system, including appearing in court on behalf of clients. The various court systems which permit non-lawyer participation are discussed as well as the positions of the key organizations overseeing and representing paralegals.
